Marc Quinn

Born in London, 1964, Marc Quinn has been graduated in history and history of art at Cambridge University. He began his career as a sculptor in 1984 in London, where he now lives and works. He is one of the most interesting exponents of "Young British Art" that represents a situation of particulary vitality in the contemporary art of the last decade. What the artists who comprise this group some forty in all, including Quinn have in common is a radical and transgressive spirit.

He participated in the Sidney Biennial in 1993 and in "Sensation" at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1997.One man shows have been held since 1988 and, among them, in 1995 at the Tate Gallery in London and in 1999 at Kunstverein Hannover. The exhibition conceived by Quinn in the Fondazione Prada will be his first Italian one-man show.
