Sunday 26 May, 4 pm, artist and filmmaker Fiona Tan meets the public in a masterclass moderated by critic and programmer Sergio Fant.

The event is part of #Studio, exploring new contaminations between cinema and visual arts in May in collaboration with Archivio Aperto.


BIOGRAPHY
Artist and filmmaker, Fiona Tan is known for films and installations in which she explores themes of memory, identity and history. Her works can be found in numerous international collections, including Tate Modern, Stedelijk Museum, Neue Nationalgalerie, Schaulager, New Museum and Centre Georges Pompidou. In 2009, he represented the Netherlands at the 53rd Venice Biennale with the exhibition ‘Disorient’. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Among the most recent: solo shows at the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, Museum der Moderne in Salzburg, Kunsthalle in Krems, Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Museum für Modern Kunst in Frankfurt, Mudam in Luxembourg, Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo, BALTIC in Gateshead, MAXXI in Rome and the Philadelphia Museum of Art; group shows at the São Paulo Biennale, documenta IX and the Istanbul Biennale. He has written and directed three feature films: History’s Future, screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2015, Ascent (2016) and Dearest Fiona (2023), selected in the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival 2023.
