#Soggettiva explores the work of Jessica Hausner: from Lovely Rita (2001) to her most recent work, Club Zero (2023), starring Mia Wasikowska, which was presented in competition at the last Cannes Film Festival.
Director, screenwriter and film producer Jessica Hausner directed her first feature film Lovely Rita in 2001, which was presented in the “Un Certain Regard” section at Cannes and nominated for best debut feature at the European Film Awards. Hausner returned to Cannes with the thriller Hotel (2004). In 2009 Lourdes was in competition at the Venice Film Festival and received several awards, including the FIPRESCI prize. In 2014 Hausner presented Amour Fou, a rarefied sentimental drama, at Cannes, and in 2019 Little Joe, which won the award for best female performance; in 2023 Club Zero is in competition for the Palme d’Or.
