In every drop of water lives an invisible world. Fresh and salt waters are home to microscopic animal and plant organisms, too small to be seen with the naked eye, yet essential to the balance of Earth’s ecosystems. Through the use of the microscope, children explore the hidden life of water: shapes, colors, and movements reveal a surprising landscape. Scientific observation thus becomes the starting point for an experience of discovery and imagination. Building on what they observe, children create graphic works using different techniques and materials, giving shape to a personal micro-universe.
