Ari, 2025, Léonor Serraille, Courtesy Wanted

On Friday, 9 May, at 8.30 pm, French director Léonor Serraille presents Ari to the audience during a meeting with the actor Andranic Manet and Paolo Moretti. Selected for competition at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival, the French filmmaker’s third feature film tells the delicate story of a vulnerable and fragile individual transitioning into adulthood. The event is held in collaboration with the Bellaria Film Festival.


BIOGRAPHY
After studying literature in Lyon, Paris, and Barcelona, Léonor Serraille joined the prestigious French film school La Fémis in 2009. Following her graduation, she directed Body, a 16mm medium-length film starring Nathalie Richard. In 2017, she made her feature debut with Montparnasse Bienvenüe Jeune Femme, which won the Caméra d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Her second feature, Un petit frère (Mother and Son), premiered in competition at Cannes 2022. In 2025, she completed her third feature, Ari, which screened in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival.
